Vehicles in German Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities stated they were contacted by a man who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located many other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis show the liquid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

An important representative commented the incident made him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
