Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
